Full breakdown of the Engineering system — unlock, core loop, currency production, stat upgrades, and a material checklist to min-max your account. Unlocks at level 40+ in Act I's main city. This is an account-wide booster, separate from the Smeltery database crafting loop or in-town Forge work. Here's how it works.

Overview: Unlock & Core Loop

Two tabs: Input and Upgrades. You cycle between producing currencies in Tab 1 and spending them on upgrades in Tab 2. Standalone progression path — complements your main character development and stacks with gear and talent investments over time.

Tab 1: Input — Currency Production

Manages your passive currency accumulation. Four currencies total. Start with Idea. Under each currency name, you'll see a production rate (X/h). Each currency feeds its respective upgrade tier.

Engineering Tab 1 — Input and currency production rates

The Production Speed panel only affects passive generation. Leveling these panels eats physical items from your bag — mostly from Act I gathering and mining. Buy the permanent 4/4 upgrade in Act I's shop to all passive production. Do it — speeds up the grind.

Tab 2: Upgrades — Spend & Unlock Next Tier

Spend accumulated currencies on permanent character and account-wide stat buffs. Costs are in the bottom-right corner of each node. You can't unlock the next currency in Tab 1 immediately. To move from Idea to Blueprint, find and buy the specific upgrade node in Tab 2's current row that unlocks it.

Engineering Tab 2 — upgrade nodes and currency unlocks

Every time you unlock a new currency, go back to Tab 1 and level its Production Speed panel from scratch. Physical items from your inventory get consumed during upgrades. Keep them in your bag — stash won't work.

Core Progression Rule: Iterative Upgrading

Unlock new currency → upgrade Production Speed in Tab 1 → farm Tab 2 upgrades. Repeat for all four tiers.
